Bangalore: ‘Karnataka Ratna’ Conferred on Dr Veerendra Heggade

Bangalore, May 12: Dharmadhikari ‘Rajarshi’ Dr D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala was conferred the prestigeous ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award for 2009 by chief minister B S Yeddyurappa at a function held here on Wednesday, May 11.
On the same occasion former vice chancellor and writer Dr D Javare Gowda was also conferred the award for 2008.

Director Kannada & Culture Manu Baligar, Minister Shobha Karandlage are seen.Dr Heggade said that all rural development and self-employment (RUDSET) schemes of the union government were likely to be brought under the purview of the Dharmasthala trust.
CM Yeddyurappa said luck favoured only the brave and not the timid. It was a human tendency but it should not be at the cost of another life, he said.
Dr Javare Gowda trained his guns at the English-medium schools and urged the government to collect a part of the huge donations collected by these schools, which harass and loot the public.
