Bangalore, May 12: Dharmadhikari ‘Rajarshi’ Dr D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala was conferred the prestigeous ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award for 2009 by chief minister B S Yeddyurappa at a function held here on Wednesday, May 11.
On the same occasion former vice chancellor and writer Dr D Javare Gowda was also conferred the award for 2008.

CM Yeddyurappa said luck favoured only the brave and not the timid. It was a human tendency but it should not be at the cost of another life, he said.
Dr Javare Gowda trained his guns at the English-medium schools and urged the government to collect a part of the huge donations collected by these schools, which harass and loot the public.
