B.H.Tanvi.Rao, 12 years as on 1st may 2010, 7th Standard St.Agnes Higher Primary School Mangalore,and resident near Kadri Temple Mangalore is a born dancer. Apart from learning Bharathnatyam from Smt Geetha Saralaya & Smt Rashmi Chidanand, Nrityabharathi, Kadri, Mangalore, Tanvi is a self choreographer for other forms of dances & won prizes in many dance competitions for self choreographed dances in State and National level competitions. Apart from winning in many dance competitions she won prizes at Jaycees Princes, ICICI Smart Kid & was chosen as the “ Karavali Princes” during Karavali Utsav 2003. By learning classical dances as above & by choreographing other forms of dances on her own highlights of her achievements can be summarized as under.

Tanvi gave her Bharathnatyam Rangapravesha at her tender age of 10 and a half infront of jam packed Mangalore Town Hall crowd on 22.11.08

During Suvarna Kannada Rajyostva, when she was just 6 years of age, she choreographed dances for 2 kannada poems of Dr Chennaveerakanavi & Dr Da.Ra.Bendre & sent the VCD of the same to the then Honorable President of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam & earned his appreciation & blessings in writing. Later Honorable Dr A.P.J Kalam visited Mangalore during February 2009 personally met her in Mangalore, collected her Rangapravesha VCD from her & sent his appreciation letter after watching the same.

Honored by Ministry of Women & Child Welfare, Government of Karnataka on 14.11.08 with the State Award for exceptional achievement in the field of culture.

For a self choreographed dance performance from the movie ” Aaja Nachale”  before the release of the movie just by viewing a couple of minutes’ advertisement trailer video released about the movie & choreographing the major portion of that dance in her performance, the original artist Ms Madhuri Dixith Nene invited this little choreographer to Mumbai on MadhuriDixith’s Birthday on 15.5.08, personally appreciated her talent and blessed this little kannadithi saying that she will soon be a world class dancer & choreographer.

Won first Prize at the age of 6 in Dhinak Dhin Dha a National level dance competition conducted in Delhi Doordarshan where the Judge was Pandith Jaykishan Maharaj S/O Pandith Birju Maharaj. Also Won first Prize in Parle G Dhum Dama Dum a National level dance competition conducted by Mumbai Doordarshan when she was 8 years of age.

Watching her dance performance VCD, former Miss World Ms Aishwarya Rai conveyed her appreciation and affection when Tanvi was 5 years of age.
